Ok i will explain my situation.

This all started about 2 Days ago. My GF was on my pc browsing around. She got off and all of a sudden i got like 4 pop up windows. I thought, just spyware. So i run my spyware software(Weebroot Spysweeper, Ad-aware and spybot). I reboot and only to find 2 Icons on my desktop. 1 of them is all gray shapped like a peice of paper that says TMS005, the other says eins005. So now im freaking out. I run Norton Antivirus, it finds nothing. I go online to try and search this problem and windows locks up due to about 40 pop up windows. To make a long story short im thinking i basically have to reformat, which ive done numerous times before.

So i get my windows cd out, go into bios and change the boot priority #1 to CD-Rom. Restart and when the prompt comes up that says "To boot from CD-Rom press Any Key" i press any key.
Nothing happens it boots right to windows. I even disabled that hard drive, try again. Same Thing. I tried the windows CD on a Friends Pc and it boots up fine to the CD. I am right now lost and have clue what to do.

I have a Shuttle PC
1GB DDR 3200
80GB Western Digital HD
Geforce 6600GT
Mainboard FX43G Mobo

I am completely lost, please i need any help i can get. Thx in advance.

Follow these instructions carefully.

Everyone should have all 6 of these programs on their machines for spyware issues and should be scanned as often as possible, 1 program at a time. They are all free, except for Ewido, which is free for 30 days. Before you run these programs, make sure you check for updates and download the updates, then close the program and re-open it. Doing this will load the new spyware definitions.

Ad Aware SE Personal

Ad-Aware VX2 Cleaner Plug-In 2.0

Spybot Search & Destroy

Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware

HiJackthis!

Ewido Free for 30 days

The programs below this line, do not download unless asked too. These programs are optional and don't really need to be installed on your system unless you have stubborn spyware that require these programs.

Follow these steps

Delete the prefetch folder C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch, this folder will come back on next reboot.

Delete all cookies and temporary internet files in the control panel.

Go to Start, run, type msconfig, go to startup, disable everything except your antivirus, click apply, donÂ’t reboot yet.

Download Msconfig Cleanup below

Msconfig Cleanup

Run Msconfig Cleanup after you unchecked the items you were told to uncheck and recheck, click "Select All", then click "Clean up Selected", then click "Quit".

Now run each spyware program 1 by 1. Running all 6 at the same time will slow most systems down.

When each program has finished scanning, remove everything.

For Microsoft Antispy, after it has finished scanning, some items will/might be on ignore, you will need to select remove unless the program is valid such as VNC Viewer, etc.

Go to search, type in Winstall, if you see it, delete it. It will be on the root of the C: drive.

Now go to the recycle bin and delete everything that is in it.

Now go to control panel, display, desktop, customize desktop, web, click on security and then click delete, if you dont see security, thatÂ’s good, donÂ’t worry about this step then.

When finished with the scans, reboot, and go into Safe Mode and run these scans again, remove everything they find, and then reboot back into Windows in normal mode.

Then run HiJackthis!

Save the log, copy and paste the log on www.techist.com
Do not attach the log, copy and paste always. This will make things go much faster.

When you have posted your second, third, etc. log and everything has been cleared, re-scan your system, check everything, then on the bottom right hand corner, click "Add Checked to Ignore List", click "Yes", and thatÂ’s it. The next time you have a problem and you see an entry, this will be a lot faster to troubleshoot.

Now download this CCleaner Free

Run it, make sure all boxes are checked, click "OK" when a prompt as you a question, then click "Run Cleaner"
Next go to Issues, click "Scan for issues" , then click "Fix Selected Issues...." click "No" , then click "Fix all selected issues", click "OK", click "Close", then close the programs and thatÂ’s it.

ok right now i finished DL'd all the programs and updating them. I am currently scanning with Spybot.

I have 1 question. Im not sure how to reboot in safe mode. All my other pcs had an option at the spash screen...this one just says press "DEL" to enter settings(bios).

any suggestions?

Thx again for your help

scanned in normal and safe mode succesfully!

awesome...thx alot for your help...my pc is running great now. No more pop ups or anything. You saved me big time!

Thx again :)

Well the reason i was reformatting was because of all the Virus's/spyware/malware on my computer. I thought it was hopeless to try and remove it all, so i was going to reformat. I would have reformated if i could of got my pc to boot from CD. Somehow the spyware must of not allowed that, cause i can boot from cd fine now.

Would u recommend to still reformat?

Seems like all the Virus/spyware/malware is all out of my pc, but its always nice to start fresh.
