I just got a DVD Burner for Christmas and tried it out by burning the two Debian ISO's. I was going to install them on a Dell I have. I used a demo version of Alcohol 120%.

For some reason these discs won't boot in my Dell.

Yes they are DVD+R's and yes the Dell has a DVD-Rom.

The discs are imation DVD+R's 8x. They say video on them. Does that make any difference. I hate wasting discs.

Thanks

EDIT: Discs are not even being read in the drive or the bruner they came from. Am I doing something wrong? Can it be the software I am using to burn the ISO's?

Hey guys,

I tried using different software. Yes they are DVD Images. 4.2 GB Debian ISO's.

It burns CDs fine. I burnt an ISO of PCLinuxOS and it worked fine. The DVDs I burn turn into coasters. No drive will read them or even recognize that they exist.

I even tried burning a video DVD with no success. Same thing. Coaster. Is it possibly the write speed? It is supposed to be a 8x drive. I am using media recommended for 8x and burning at 8x.

I even tried lowering to 6x.

Thanks
