Is this a good computer?

Actually digi, that one isn't much better, for games nowadays, the graphics card is very important in a build.

If you're going to get somewhat of a prebuild, I'd suggest getting an upgradable computer such as this
http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=333208&pfp=cat3
then putting in extra ram and a good graphics card.
So, get the above for 225$
then upgrade ram, 35$
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820231029
then upgrade video card, 120$ after rebate (140$ before)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130220
= 420$ before the video card rebate.
Helluva good deal in my opinion.
You'll have a:
Sempron 3100+ 1.8Ghz (Really overclockable)
756Mb RAM
6600GT Video Card
etc.etc. all for 420$
Yay.

2.93mhz P4 is better for games than AMD64 2.2gghz. The $600 comes with regular win XP, not for 64 bit so no advantage. You're mostly paying for 64 bit but less speed. Both use onboard video, so not too much of a difference. The one I posted has SATA. And the ram difference can be solved in under $50. So you can basically pay less for more. Just like less is more than more on unix ;)

macdude, get your head out of your mac and listen. I'm not comparing 2.93gghz to 2.2gghz... I know you dont compare clock speeds like that, but you can compare performance. And I own a 3gghz P4 (oldest series) and a 2.0gghz AMD64 which I run 64 bit, and it is a good deal slower (I figured about 15%, my test are not accurate but they give me a good enough a picture of which one is faster). So NEWS FLASH, its not about megahertz but performance. For games, and CPU intense stuff where every drop counts, the faster P4 will win.

LOL newsflash #3 - Digi you're wrong. Yes intel has its ups; multitasking and internet browsing, but AMD consumes intel in game performance. Read this comparison.

You have much to learn and you're probably an intel fanatic, but you're wrong about the whole 'games will run faster on a p4' thing. P4's aren't as great as AMD's when it comes to gaming, simple as.
Oh, and when you say you have two different cpu's, which ones are they? I'm very curious. Also, if they are in different computers, of course they will be different; the specs of each one determine performance as well.
Next time do your homework
