Suggestion for upgrade

i need to upgrade my comp. for 2006
Currently, i got AMD64 3700+ s754 @260*10@2.6G
1G of OCZ pc4000 gold
DFI NF3 UT LP
Powercolor X800XT
Dell FPW2005 Ultra sharp
Logitech 680 and z5500
i got $$1200 now
what i can do for the upgrade?

You can upgrade lots of stuff, namely the motherboard, psu, cpu, sound card, video card and the ram.

yea i would get a AMD X2 and a motherboard that supports it, and add another gig of RAM. or you could build another friggin computer with that money

Wait for June, we have socket M2, the G80 core, DX10 and Windows Vista! The PC you have now is more than enough to hold you over until then. You will regret it if you don't.

I agree with what BandwidthHogg said. If you get new hardware right now, it'll be outdated very soon. Just wait a few months and then upgrade.

on the flip side, that new hardware is going to be very expensive out of the door. New video cards usually land around $700. New processors are a around that same price. New operating systems are tripled in price to what I'm used to paying.
