Hey peeps!

A friend of mine has a notebook PC, running Windows XP Home. There is a problem with the audio. Everytime the HDD load light flashes (i.e. everytime the HDD is busy), there is an interferance going on which creates, what I can only describe as, a crumpled kind of sound. The notebook has onboard sound and onboard graphics, so I'm gussing this is where the problem lies. Initially I thought that the primary IDE bus might have reverted to PIO mode, since this sometimes causes problems like this (more-so with optical drives). I'm starting to think that it could be an IRQ problem.

The problem has been there from day-one.
Any ideas?

Thanks!
TMT.

I have this problem with my desktop, I was leaning towards getting a new audio card (I have an original SB Audigy). I tried everything under the sun and still couldn't figure out why. I know its no help, but I tired everything and still have issues. Try starting with updating the drivers... see what happens.
