Most people on these forums recommend getting a 6600GT if you are looking for a card in this price range but to me the x1600pro looks better.

Here are the specs:

Sapphire Radeon X1600PRO
Core clock: 500MHz
Memory Clock: 780MHz
Memory Size: 256mb
Memory Interface: 128-bit
Memory Type: GDDR2
Pixel Pipelines: 12
Max Resolution: 2560x1600
Price: $129

EVGA 6600GT
Core Clock: 500MHz
Memory Clock: 1000MHz
Memory Size: 128MB
Memory Interface: 128-bit
Memory Type: GDDR3
Pixel Pipelines: 8
Max Resolution: 2048x1536
Price: $119

What do you think?

That x1600pro is looking mighty fine, and it will probably overclock a lot better than the 6600gt because it's 90nm. If you get it let us know how it is.

If you can afford the X1600 pro, you might want to consider the 6800GS, which blows the top off of the X1600 Pro. Just some food for thought.

No, but the 256MB version of the 6600GT just weighs it down, barely any improvement in performance. You'd be better off with 512MB more System RAM, for the same price increase to the 6600GT 256MB.
