boot to your xp cd it will come up quick (press f6 to load you raid drivers) the first repair you see will be to use the recovery console. you don't want that. above that you will see setup or install windows i forget of hand. click that and the next screen you will have the option to repair windows.

I tried that and it said that I needed to find a mass storage device or specify one before continuing. It gave me the option of hitting s to specify one but that didnt' work or hit enter to get info off of a floppy. neither worked. I need to get some rest before tommorrow. Thanks again for your help and if you have any more advice or if anyone else has any helpfull thoughts. have at it.

Thanks again.

get a windows 98 bootdisk from www.bootdisk.com...download windows98 oem, write it to a floppy, boot from it, fdisk and format, install xp cd, hit f6 to install raid drivers/mass storage devices, etc....which should be on a floppy, then let xp install

If you are going to reinstall windows, why RAID those drives????? If you are going to mirror them you've just lost the additional stoage space. You can do whatever you want but I would just use one drive for my os and the other for storage of critical data adn for back up. RAID on a home PC, in my opinion, is just a silly waste of time. But that's me.

To be totally honest with you, as if you couldn't tell, I have no idea what a raid is or how to run it or shut it down. All I know is it has to do with the hard drives that is it. I appreciate the help. It sucks though I can't try this stuff until the weekend because working 14 to 15 hour days now and it wipes me out. Thanks again and I will drop a line this weekend and let you know. Oh and if you have any other useful help let me know or if you can tell me about the raid. Thanks

I totally agree.

use a boot cd cloning program and copy the contents from no.2 hdd to no. 1 and see if that fix it, if you haven't lost the your raid drivers yet
