so your planning your system that you will be building in around 18months. To be totally honest your guess is as good as ours because like everyone said above the market is always changing. ATI were the leaders in the last generation of cards then it swapped over. Intels pentium3 was good then it swapped and the P4 is junk and the amd xps and 64s are alot better. It swings around so much. Get yourself the cash ready then post on here your budget, give it a hour and youll have a page of links of what you should get from everyones experience.
When the time to buy comes then decide. I would suggest a lot of RAM because gaming takes a lot up. Also a Athlon 2.8 or more than 3 gig CPU would give u great boost.
Yea, gaming really does take alot of RAM. Well, if i have to, i will spend more than $3000 on the gaming PC. idc lol, cuz i dont have any bills to pay.
ok, this right here is what i was thinking so far. I know they will have better stuff when i turn 14. well, here is what i was thinking. a GeForce 7800 graphics card, this LCD monitor http://www.dontbuyjunk.com/product.php/pid=589982 and maybe a
OCZ 600W power supply. Thats all i have now. Im writing all these ideas down on paper, and whenever some1 posts an idea, i write it down. and when i get that $3000, or more, i will cross stuff out to get the BEST stuff for my ultimate gaming pc.
this is just for now, it might change when i get the money but idk. So umm, if this is what ima get, will my mobo and all that other stuff i posted earlier go together ok?
Oh man you need to seriously look into better LCDs. There are some really nice ones out there and if you are having a 3K+ budget then you really need to get a good one to take advantage of your other nice hardware.
In an LCD the ms is one of the most important features. You don't want anything above 8ms if at all possible so that games will play well.
Also the color ratio can be a concern if you do anything with video or graphics. You want at least 700:1 color contrast ratio.
