i am going to be building a pc. here are my specs:

Biostar U8668D 533 FSB DDR V/S/L
128 MB DDR PC2100 @266 MHz
WD 40 GB 7200 RPM/ w/2 MB cache
samsung 52x24x52x16 CD-RW/DVD-ROM
Celeron 2.40 GHz 128k 400 MHz FSB
mini atx tower w/mouse, keyboard, speakers.
1.44 MB floppy i have already.

age of empires II
worms armagedon
comand and conquer renegade

Sounds ok. I would run Win XP as an OS. I can't stand linux for gaming... However if you run Win XP you should be looking at 512Mb ram or an absolute minimum of 256Mb.
You don't mention what graphics card you are going to be running and also how future proof you want your system to be.

Well the onboard video pretty much sucks. You are definatley going to need to get a new video card and a good 512 mb of ram.
If got extra cash upgrade to a pentium 4.

yeah celeron is definitely bad and go for the 80gig WD 8 MB buffer for only like 70 dollars at newegg

you might not even be able to play the trial version of halo I believe it requires atleast a 32 mb vid card and most integrated are around 16 (my integrated is 8 but this mobo is old). Shoot for a stick of 512, its only $60.

I agree with more ram and the bigger hard drive. and as far as the processor, well, celeron's scare me. I like AMD Athlon but you should at least get that or a p4.
