will this run games?

Hi everyone.

I have just bought a budget pc, it is the Acer aspire E360 and has the following specs:

AMD athlon 64 3200+ FSB1000MHz 512kb L2
RAM: DDR 512MB*2
HDD: 200gb/7200rpm(sata)
Graphics: nvidia G6200LE 256mb

Is this going to be up to spec to play the latest games with good graphics? what areas in the above are weak and what are strong?

The CPU, RAM and HDD are good but your graphics are junk. How much would you spend for an upgrade?

I am not sure if i will be getting an xbox360 or not in the near future, but presuming i dont, then around $250

out of interest, the AMD athlon 64 3200+ is this ok? compared to an intel what would it be?

I would personally get an x800 GT02 because they can be overclocked and unlocked to x800 xt speeds. I calculated $250 to be £144, and thata what i could find. Do you have pci-e or agp?
Or you could get a 6600gt. Personally i would save and get a 6800GS on pci-e or an x800xl on agp.

The 3200 is good and compares to (and beats) a pentium 3.2gh

this x800, how much is it in english pounds?

I have agp. I just perchased a x800xl today for £178.
The x800gto2 is like £150 on ebuyer.co.uk
Check out overclockers.co.uk then graphics cards, then ati, then agp, mine is the HIS X800XL one.
