First Time Upgrade Is It Worth It??

I would like to try and upgrade one of my "old" machines for gaming and would really appreciate any help and advice you guys can offer! I'm tempted mainly because it is a very large tower case although it looks positively ancient compared to some of the system specs on this forum??
SPEC:-
Gateway P111,500mhz, Cache Ram 512kb,
128mb sdram (2 x 64mb) upgradeable to 3 x 256mb.
12.7gb HD.
Video I think is AGP 64mb pci.
Onboard Drives, DVD, CDRW, IOMEGA 100 Zip. 3.5 Floppy.

Can I do anything with this? Is it worth it?

Really would appreciate basic info guys, I've not really considered a budget but if any of you think it's worth having a go at I suppose up to £200?

Na, wait and save up for some better stuff. Although that would make a great server for printers, gaming and what not.

Not worth it

I really dont think you will go anywhere with a pIII 500mhz. its just too old. you probably would be better off just getting a new computer. if youre on a budget and you dont want to build your own, just get a dell dimension e310 series. they have p4 processors and start at just 500 bucks. they perform ok for games and you can always upgrade...
