quick question

Getting my hard drive, and I have a quick questions:

1) If I get one that says "IDE Ultra ATA100" does that mean I use the SATA cable, or do I use the ribbon-looking one? I'm a tad confused

You would use the ribbon shapped one, aka IDE cable. You would use SATA cables if it said SATA.
