Ok, i have another post here about building a rig, but I decided to keep my current rig as my "daily" and build just 1 rig as my "workstation"...My wife and I do numerous things...digital art, video, photoraphy etc. And I'm looking to build a nice setup...my budget is probably around 2k at this time...

I'd like dual monitors (doesnt have to be, but it would be much nicer) I'm new at the dual display thing so any ideas or tips about setting up a system to run dual display would be great...

I have a wishlist on newegg that can be seen here: http://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion...5& WishListTitle=Ryans+Christmas+WishList+05'

it's a starting point...I will be adding/removing/adjusting things...I am however looking to build the rig within the next few weeks (or atleast order the parts)

my biggest concerns are as follows:

1. how do i configure and setup for dual display
2. what (brand/model)media drives (i DO want seperate CD-ROM and DVD/CD-RW drives) like i said, we are doing digital video now, and we'll need a great set of drives to produce te discs...
3. should i go dual-core? or...?

Thanks in advance! I'll be posting updated parts lists probably later tonight.

if ur doing digital medias, i would recommend u go dual-core

dual display isn't hard to configure (i have one too and u can configure it through the display properties)

as for cd/dvd brands, i just go for the popular ones (sony, toshiba, pioneer) ya their all japanese manufacturers but they have great quality products

and why do u need a floppy drive for? i mean their almost extinct cuz they have usb flash drives now.

and prolly in the future, u'll be upgrading RAM and HD space cuz digital medias will be needing huge amount of space

Case- Rosewill TU-155- $50 (same one I have, I love it)

u dont need all that ****.

mobo: get asus or gigabyte pci-e no sli socket 939 mobo.

ram: u gave him overclaocing ram too? get this instead http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145579

sound card: stay with onboard audio.

video card: doing video and photo edittin doesn't requires that much video processing so im goona say looking into nvidia 6600 or 6600gt or lower as long as they have dual dvi ouput.

i dont know about monitors the reponse time seem higher for video editing.
