Windows Cabs

Okay I recently bought a older laptop which had windows 95 on it Im wanting to upgrade it to 98SE. I have the cabs from the disk but the cd is long lost my kid broke it. I was wondering if I could use those to upgrade the laptop. Like copy them over to a root folder, delete the windows directory and run setup.

I doubt it

You need a legit cd and the serial numbers accepeted to match when you run setup.
Thats why BG is so rich.

if its a copy of win98 that can be installed without the cd,it can be installed,but the laptop has to have 2 partitions.the setup.exe has to be on a seperate partition other then the one your installing windows to.
