Computer not booting: stuck on "Platinum Screen"

I reset the bios by removing the battery (couldn't find the jumper), although when I booted the computer, it still stuck on the same screen. Any suggestions?

could it be the ram?, or a pci card causeing it to not boot...

I found out what the problem was. A cd in the dvd drive caused the computer to stop during post. The problem was fixed by just taking the cd out.

yah bring it down to the basics cpu, one stick of ram, one cdrom drive, a hd,and graphics card.

only the esentials if its not critical to boot remove it i am thinking its a faulty pci card or something

could be a bad harddrive for all you know check that out
