VHS tapes to your PC?

Hello All,

Can anyone tell me how you go about transferring VHS video tape to your PC? Would I need a special video card or hardware to do it? Have an extra VCR and a camcorder I can use, just want to convert some family junk, quality won't be an issue. Cheapest solution appreciated =)

a video card with rca inputs would be needed, I believe movie maker could handle the recording part.

a tv-tuner card. Plug vcr into card, use software that comes with it....

Thanks, Noga! I won't be watching any TV on the thing, just the VHS to PC transfers so I assume those two would do the job just fine

look at the lowend leadtek analogue tuners. i think once they had a sale at newegg where you could get a tv2000xp for $9 us!!!. i had that card it worked great for me.
