best 3d software?

mentioned what was the number one 3d software, i cant remember or find the thread, can someone just refresh my memory?

it was softimage xsi

but wats the difference between softimage xsi and softimage 3d?

i think if i remeber correctly 3d is the lower end. XSI is the proffesional version with more features. still though when i say lower end softimage 3D, 3D studio, lightwave are used for making video games and some animated movies. softimage 3D was used to make spirited away movie and virtual fighter 4 game.
