One or Two?

I am building a new computer and am wondering.

Should I get 1 eVGA 7800GT or 2 SLi eVGA 6800XT?

I would go with one 7800GT now and maybe upgrade to Sli later. Sli is pretty useless right now.

I don't think it makes a difference how many video cards you get unless you have more than one monitor. Or a game that plays on more than one monitor, right?

Get the 7800GT by a long shot. You will be way happier. Then you can add a second later if you need it.

For sure one 7800GT. The 7800GT is on par with 2x 6800GT in SLI, and the 6800XT is a step down from the 6800 vanilla, which only has 12 pipes. The 7800GT will tear it apart.

If you can afford 2 cards why not just get the 7800 GTX 512 If you want the best of the best. Sli isnt worth getting unless you can afford it and like wasting money just for bragging rights.
