well i am trying to upgrade my computers video card and i found the perfect one at a decent price but the problem is that it says that it only supports agp 8x while my mother only supports 4x. but on some other websites it says that it supports 4x and people have written comments saying that it runs perfectly on their 4x.

My Specs:

Motherboard: ASUS CUV4X-C AGP 4X
VideoCard: GeForce 2MX
RAM:512 pc133 SDRAM
CPU: Pentium 3 1GHZ

now for the websites i am talking about heres a list of them

TigerDirect the place where i found the card in the first place http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1179550&Sku=P450-8536
if you check the specs on the card it says AGP 8x only but in the reviews someone said that they had used it on agp 4x i believe

NewEgg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814150059
now here it says that it is compatible with AGP4x/8x and also in the review someone said they used an AGP 4x motherboard to use it

Now here comes the strange part on the manufacturers website it says that it can only be used with AGP 8x i believe
http://www.xfxforce.com/web/product/listConfigurationDetails.jspa?productConfigurationId=951

Now the question is does it work with AGP 4x??

Umm, you should have no problem running an AGP 8x graphics card on an AGP 4x motherboard. Most of these cards are backwards compatible as long as your AGP slot supports the 1.5V carrier voltage.

are you sure i thought it wasnt compatible with my motherboard..well do u kno if my agp slot supports that amount of voltage?
