VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA Geforce 7800 GTX 256MB

HARD DRIVE: Hitachi 160GB Hard Drive SATA150

Optical Drive: LG GWA-4161 16X DVD±R/±RW + CD-R/RW DRIVE DUAL LAYER

SOUND: HIGH DEFINITION ON-BOARD 7.1 AUDIO

And why the X2 3800, wouldnt the 4000+ be better suited for gaming since i dont need to multi-task. Also, I have heard that in some games you have to turn off the 2nd core, which would make it pointless.

personally i would get the thermaltake armor series for a little more (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811133154)
and an OCZ psu (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817711002)
and get the x2 3800+ because eventually you will do something besides gaming and the latest games are being programmed for dual core. all they need is feature model to set the standard (like half life 2 did with HDR and stuff,but with dual cores)
for the motherboard unless that's the 32 deluxe version get a DFI ultra-d instead (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813136152)
for memory buy geil (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820144310)
for video card make sure to buy eVGA and also, i would get the 7800gt as i couldn't justify the $100 price jump (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130247) but if it's no matter to you get the GTX just make sure to buy eVGA
don't know anything about the optical drive but for hard drive buy seagate or western digital instead (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822148021)
and if you get the 7800gt instead you can afford a sound card (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16829102188)

If I do go with the dual cores, will XP recgonize both of them, or will i have to purchase the 64 bit version of XP.

xp will recognize both, just make sure you're bios is up to date as well as running windows update to fully optimize your computer for dual cores

Dude thats gonna be a sick setup...i think you may be wasting money with the GTX though, i have the GT, and it FLYS!!! you dont really need to spend the extra cash imo, but its up to you....have fun
