i have a problem with my winXP SP2. well, it's not really a problem, but it sure annoys me from time to time. i have a few directories with lots of documents, and i like them to be neat and tidy. so, i right click in certain folder, go to view, and choose list. the problem is that windows won't remember my changes, and the next time i restart the system, view is set to TILES. how to make windows remember changes i made to icons VIEW and ARRANGE?
i found this on some forum:
1. Run regedit
2. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Program Manager\Restrictions
3. Find DWORD "NoSaveSettings" and set its value "0".
4. If this item doesn't exist, create it.
, but unfortunately it didn't help, as this value was already in my register.
could someone help me please?

you just can't really do it with xp. everybody complains about it. you can do it with the others version of windows

set the folder options and sort order you want, then go to tools, folder options, view, click on apply to all folders, close out everything and now they should be like you want them
