Playing DVD's

hello,
i'm having a problem playing dvds on my computer.

I am running Windows xp home SP2

I have tried running DVDs on the following programs:
+Power DVD 5
+Windows Media Player 9
+Windows Media Player 10
+Real Player 10.5

any help in solving this problem would be appreciated greatly.

if you need any other information about my comp specs, i will be able to get them for me, (if you tell me how to get there!!lol)

It goes very slow, (about half speed), and it is very jumpy, sometimes it wont play at all!

When I insert the disc it brings up the AutoPlay box, and I say, Play DVD Movie in Power DVD.
Then it brings up Power DVD and it starts the DVD playing, but once you click "play movie", in the DVD menu it goes really slow and it is very jumpy,
there is no sound.
