Ok, So I've just sold something for £560, and my parents have offered me some money to be able to build a computer.

Asus A8N Sli s939 Deluxe-
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....AMEWA:IT&rd=1

AMD Winchester 3500+ s939 -
(see above link)

Corsair 3200 LX Pro 1gb of RAM -
(see above link).

After e-mailing the above seller, they seemed decent and proper, and even said they would accept £280 (I'm from UK, us=around 1.6x).
This seems a very good deal as I was originally planning to get much worse ram (I believe that expensive RAM only helps with overclockability?), more like an AMD 3000+, and a less expensive motherboard. So I don't spend any more but I get much better parts. Can anyone confirm for me that the problem with the motherboard (PCI-E slot I think) in this auction really won't make a difference?

Before you moan about the fact that nearly all of these parts will be off eBay, I must claim the fact that I can't find any good UK online computer shops. The 5/6 I have found have abysmal reselleratings, (less than 3/10) and amazon rarely has most of the parts. So I guess I could ask now, does anyone know of any UK shops that are reliable? eBay seems to outclass all other UK shops in feedback and range.. .

Nvidia 6600 512mb Geforce -

I'm guessing it can't really make use of 512mb of memory, but seems a good price? I will be playing moderate games, (probably some racing games and sport). I will also be editing a lot of photographs. How good a card do I need. I imagine my screen resolution will probably be about 1600x1200.

Maxtor 200gb IDE 8mb Cache

Seems a good price. . .are these hard drives very realiable?

The case has been something I have been struggling with because I hadn't intended to spend to much, yet I feel its quite important. I kinda really want the Antec P160W but it is expensive (not sure if I can afford), and I can't find it anywhere. Not only this, but the PSU is important too, and good ones seem too expensive too.

I came across www.xcase.co.uk which look very good. The following looks good because of the good price, good looks and the status panel:

Onto the Monitor, this is where I'm not really sure. As you can see, it is not as though my parents are going to give me like £600 so I haven't got much to spend.

Because of lack os space, and a little bit of experience with LCDs I do really want one rather than a CRT. Ideally I want a dell 2405fpw but I can't afford one, so I guess a 2005fpw would be good. I am really pushing it for that though, so are they any good alternatives?

I will be on a home wireless network, will XP home be fine for me? And this keyboard looks good: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-Saitek-Ec...1QQcmdZViewItem

Ok, thats all for the moment, probably lots more questions to come. . .

Thanks in advance for all the help.. ..

like you said, the 6600 512 MB is no good. It will slow down your system in general, i guess its because that it is not fast enough to be a 512 MB card. get a 6600GT instead. its way better
and if you want even more performance in games, get the 6800GS

I was just wondering how much the broken safety clip for the PCI-E slot on the motherboard (in the auction linked to in first post) will affect anything. the seller claims it won't, but is that true?
