because the prices at local stores can be really bad compared to online. and they don't have as wide of a selection. and when buying online, you can find out how reputable the company is buy going to places like epinions.com or browsing the forums and looking for stores mentioned frequently. and because alot of ppl live in a state like NH where there is nothing (thankfully theres more ppl than cows 
)

yaa i buy from who ever is cheaper or if i just have ants in my pants and need to get my money out i bough an extream case around the corner from me they charged me about 75$ the next day saw the same thing online with 500w PSU for under 50 free next day shipping :-(
