yes, i am a computer hardware newb.

i decided to build a computer, and i THINK all of my parts are compatible, but im not sure, also, i want to know if this case:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811144026

will support a Intel P4 Prescott Processor, becuase i got a 1600sum page book about computer hardware and it says you should get a Prescott ready case or something, with the air guide thing, do i need that? or will the little 80mm fan on the side do well enough?

also, heres my list of parts: (attatched)

a copy of it:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811144026 - Case - 51

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817154013 - PSU - 32.50

forgot to have my PSU and my Case in there, bad copy maybe.

also, whats wrong with the ram? i mean obviously the ones you found is better, but the one i found together is cheaper, UNLESS those 2 sticks are both 1gb sticks, also, my monitor is just if i get one, since this is all from relatives for xmas, and i have a couple old CRT monitors around my house i can use, im not obsessed with how great a monitor is, but thanks for the feedback!

btw, is it all compatible? with all those parts will they go together and work?

also, i have 2 fans on the list, to replace the 80mm fans the thing comes with, but from the pictures of the case there seems to be a spot for a rear fan, but i dont know what size to shop for, and it doesnt seem to say in the specs, any ideas? also, would this case be considered Prescott Ready (i can put a PRescott P4 in it)?

thanks a lot guys,
Phate

in response to Goodnews101, i have no set "budget" i am just compiling a list for my relatives to delve into for xmas presents, and then the other parts i will acrue via allowance over time, and if i cant build my system soon after xmas (/cry) i will have to keep all the parts in antistatic bags and whatnot and be sad that my machine wont work yet cuz my relatives shorted me :)

x-fi sound card if ur gonna spend more than 50$ get this beast.
my friend has that same case and its kinda gay if u ask me. get my thermaltake psu works fantastic for me.u dont need hard drive coolers there a bunch of mumbo jumbo.

i looked at the motherboard, it does look better, but one question, even though you probably arleady covered this, does it support all my things?

also, should i get a sound card? do i need one?

and also, the HDD cooler is just for kicks, and keeping temp down, i only have it as a side-note if i have any xtra money that i dont need for anything

thanks for all youre help guys!

and also, is my video card good for playing games like World of Warcraft?

also, the design of this computer is to be a gaming pc, specifically for playing World of Warcraft, but other games may also come like Call of Duty 2 and Guild Wars, so keep that in mind

also, what is the difference between my ram and the ram you said? all i see is a price raise, so whats hte difference? higher speed?
