im trying to build a computer that can basically play the best at the best resoloution. here is my list

Gigabyte 4X dual layer dvd drive
Gigabyte K8n Pro-SLI motherboard
2 1 gb ocz hihg performance RAM sticks latency at 2-2-2-5
2 Western digital 10,000rpm 74gb hard drives in RAID 0
Creative Audigy 2zs sound card
nvidia 7800gtx 512mb (not sli it is one 7800gtx card)
AMD Athlon 64 4000+ processor

2048 by 1536 19inch monitor
g7 gaming mouse
Backlit microsoft keyboard
x blade case

You dont need 2 of the raptors. Just get one 36GB for your OS and main programs/games. Get a 250GB or however big you need for storage. The only difference you will see with the raptor is slightly faster load times.
Instead of the audigy sound card, get the X-fi extreme music. Its better.
Your CPU is good, but you may want to consider going dual core.

Overall it looks good though. Either way it will be good, but some things are just expensive and wont help your performance.

about the raptors thats a question ive been meaning to ask

ive been told raid 0 basically gives faster performance (for games, video editing etc) and i was told 2 buy 1 300gb hard drive for storage and 2 raptors for speed. but how would it work?
