my friend came up with a build for me and i see him choosing 2 hardrives for me... seagate baracuda 250 gb and a western digital raptor 10k 74 gb hardrive.

the western digital hardrive is SOOOO expensive, its like 200$ down here in canada. i was juss thinking if 10k really made that much of a difference bcu i really wanna save that 200$ wouldnt my games styll be fast even if i used the seagate baracuda hardrive.

plz give opinions on wut u think. thanks

you mean up here in canada.

The drive RPM (nor the interface like the 3gb/s SATAII) doesn't matter, just how fast it reads and writes. There was a website who had the fastest hard drives (categorized by read and write speeds, which is really most important)

Like they said above, you'll see faster load times. The only other speed you may see is if there is in game caching going on, and even then it wont be something you would ever really notice. I dont see it worth the money. Invest it elsewhere.

RAID two 80 gig Barracudas w/NCQ together.

You'll get more than double the storage at almost the same speed for less than one Raptor.
