Was going to build a pc for the first time and i wanted to paint the dvd-rw drive and the dvd rom to match the blue case i wanted to know if the paint would affect the drive in any way(i wanted to paint the outside of the drive any reply would help thanks

Take off the front plate; don't leave it on the drive. Make sure you use thin paint.

I've heard Crylon Fusion paint is pretty good for this. It's made for plastics, so it won't eat it up. Make sure you remove it fomr the computer befor you paint it, openn it up and remove the plactis peices, then paint them. Don't leave them on the tray (you could, but it may hurt something)
