That little itty bitty chip on the graphics card converts the PCIe and AGP signals to the other.... Something like that. It gets rather hot on my card, and only the AGP based 6600GT has that chip. The PCIe based cards do not have it because it was orignaly made for the PCIe bus. THATS WHAT I THINK!!!! Not exactly sure lol
 
im pretty sure it was orginally made for PCIe as well...same as the 6800GS...and now thats coming across for the AGP owners to :p

its not worth it though...that card is really fast and demanding so it needss the pci-e speed
