Ok, well, about a year ago I bought an Athlon 64 3500+ and used the stock heatsink and paste. I just ordered an Evga 7800 GT and the free mobo that comes with it. I was scanning newegg reviews and it seems that a lot of ppl are experiencing a ton of probs taking out their 3500+ since it seems the paste has become rock solid.... Before I start applying serious pressure to get it off, has anyone had any experience with this and have some tips or tricks for it? Ive read some reviews that say the have lost 4 or so pins of the chip trying to get it out  Thanx in advance ^_^

well i would lay the comp on its side turn it on for a 1 or 2 minutes turn it off and quickly remove the heatsink the paste should become soft enough not to cause damage

no, turn it on, play your favorite games for like an hour or so or however long you have, then turn it off wait 1 minute or so then turn your heatsink CC and CCW and then take it off :)
