well i have a AMD 3100+ processor, 1gig or ddr ram (512 samsung and 512 kingston), 160 gig IDE HDD, ATI 9200 128mb, no clue what my mobo is ( i also want to know hot to find out), samsung cd/dvd-rw drives. i think thats it.
 
Google up cpu-z, it will tell you what your mobo model is. From there on, search up your model on google and you should be able to find out if it supports SATA drives.
 
Or you could look on your mobo for an sata slot

that yellow slot is the sata slot
 
cpu-z its a program, it tells you some stuff like cpu speed, memory stuff, mobo, video card, etc. or you can get the discontinued everest home edition
 
ehhh just looked inside the machine and and there dosnt seem to be one. ah well thanks anyway
