I bought my Inspiron 8600 with a GeForceFx 5650Go right before Dell released the Radeon 9600 and I'm sick of waiting for Dell to update their video drivers. I'm thinking of installing modified desktop drivers. Has anyone else used modified drivers? Any good/bad experiences?

Why not just go right to the video card manufacturer for the drivers?

Standard nVidia drivers don't work on Dell laptops or any laptop I don't think, I've tried. You have to wait for the manufactuerer to realease their own versions and Dell is either taking its sweet time with the next driver relase or has stopped altogether since the 5650Go is no longer offered. Thats why I'm looking in to modded drivers.
