What do you guys think?

I have an Intel Pentium 4 2.2 GHz processor right now and i was thinking about buying an AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2.00 GHz/ 2.0 GHz FSB processor. Will the 2.0GHz FSB make up for the 2.00 GHz processing speed, or should i upgrade more, if so what would be your suggestion.

NOTE: the processor can not be over $230.

Thanks

Are you gaming or just doing general things? That 3200+ would be better than that P4. If you want a better cpu for around $230 get the 3700+ San Diego. Do you have another mobo for the AMD? An AMD will not work on a board made for an Intel.

as of right now i only have the motherboard that the intel chip is on (which is a socket 478) i am planing on getting the nForce4 Ultra ATX Socket 939 Motherboard for AMD Athlon 64, Athlon 64 FX, that motherboard will support the processor.

Thats a good choice but could I recommend getting a motherboard that supports the X2 and Opteron.
