Hi i have an older p3 pc..80 gig.. fitted with 128mb mem.. will the motherboard be able to handle a 512 single mem chip.? will i have to change some of the setting in bios or will it do it itself as i have xp loaded on it.. cheers

Chances are no, I would say two 256MB chips are the best your going to do, and that's not for sure. It might be just 128MB chips.

No! 512 Sticks are high density chips. 2 sticks of pc100 would work just fine and you can get them on Ebay for nearly nothing.

ik097, what motherboard do you have? I still run an ASUS TUSL2-C Pentium 3 motherboard with 512 megs of RAM of PC133. The only RAM you'll be able to get is PC100 or PC133.
