"John Smith"

Is there a way, besides reinstalling the OS, to change "John Smith" to "My name"?

Start/Run/ type Regedit in the dialogue box

Browse to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
To change the company name:
In the right pane, double-click RegisteredOrganization.
Under "Value data", type the name that you want, and then click OK.

To change the name of the registered owner, do the following:
In the right pane, double-click RegisteredOwner.
Under "Value data", type the name that you want, and then click OK/Exit.

just remember what u put there will show up on your cookies so i wouldnt put your full name.

Registered owner is not in the right pane when I follow the instructions above, it's got alot of crap in there but reg owner isn't one of em.

I guess it would have helped if I actually clicked on the "current version" tab huh?
