What would you choose if you had the choice between:

IBM THINKPAD
INTEL PENTIUM III 650MHz CPU
128MB RAM
10GB TO 20GB HARD DRIVE
CD-ROM
14.1" TFT SCREEN

or

DELL CPX
intel PENTIUM III 500MHz CPU
128MB RAM
12GB HARD DRIVE
CD-ROM DRIVE
14.1" TFT DISPLAY

Which'd end up being better quality for a laptop?

And it'd be used for school purposes.. so I don't need these thousand dollar ones =P Win 98 and Office is good enough ;)

Normally laptops can also get wireless connections added on right? Thinking 802.11b wireless.. possible to install it internally on either one of these?

Thanks!

I know IBM is really good quality..

Plus better processor on that one compared to the dell..

And they're the same price too.

Go with the ThinkPad. The old ones were made by IBM, unlike the new ones.

The CPU is the real clincher any way. The rest of it is basically the same.

You'll need to get a wireless card to use 802.11b, as there's almost nothing you can do internally on a lappy. You may possibly be able to add some RAM, though.

hmmm interesting

I would personally go with the IBM, from the specs you've given the IBM sounds like a better overall package :)

Treat yourself it's christmas.

Christmas and crappy laptops.. lmao xP

They have both cards and USB for wireless..

USB would naturally be smaller and less bulky.. but does it compensate for internet speed?
