Yes its good, But I would go with either a DFI or MSI motherboard, ASUS aren't that freindly when it comes to AMD's.

What power supply will you use?

is it possible to get a good core system (5 main parts, motherboard, cpu, ram, HDD, graphics card) for £1000 ($1800 aprox) if so tell me what i can get??

Or better still what would you buy with the money???

what you've got looks good. i thought you were joking when you were asking if it could play games, of course it can. but like the others said don't go over 2gb of ram. make sure its some good quality ram as well look at OCZ. most of all get a good quality psu because with a system like that you don't want a hiccup out of the psu or it might just take your whole system with it.

DFI NF4 SLI-DR expert 200$
G.SKill 2GB 2*1GB 212$
Seagate 250GB hdd 105$
X2 4400+ 500$
eVGA 7800GT 300$

1300 dollars, you can even get a 7800GTX if you wuold like

actually if the downgrade the processor or even the hdd you could buy yourself a 7800GTX 512MB :p

OK This is my final choice, and I need some advice on it, please post.

DFI LanParty NF4 SLI-DR EXPERT (Socket 939) MoBo

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4400+ (Socket 939) CPU

OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC3200 DDR400 Memory

BFG GeForce 7800 GTX OC 512MB Graphics Card

Seagate Barracuda 7200.8RPM 250GB 8MB Cache

Windows XP Pro x64

Total cost (including tax) £1428.44 ($2,483.44)

IS THIS WORTH IT!!!!!
