I am ugrading from a geforce fx5200 to a E-geforce 6600gt.

I have an agp port and a pci slot. If i wanted to use the pci slot would it work?

if you wanted to use a PCI video card you can, but your most likely going ot use AGP.

I think he has PCI-Express mixed up with PCI.

You probaby don't have a PCI-E port and you wouldn't want to use a PCI port because they are slower then the current card your using. Either get a better AGP card or stick with the one you have. :)

no because he is saying he has a PCI slot which all mobo's do, and he has an AGP slot so he is wondering which one is better. And obviously the AGP is better sense they have better and newer cards then PCI

whats your budget

130 = eVGA 6600GT

170 = eVGA 6800

200 ** = eVGA 6800GS

280 = 6800GT

** DEFINTELY RECOMMENEDED BEST PRICE/PERFORMANCE GREAT DEAL IT OUTPERFORMANS A 6800GT ;)

they make 6800gs for agp?? i thought they stopped making new cards for agp and 6800gs is pretty new isnt it..?

I am also looking to upgrade

i would also like to upgrade my z540's videocard, but i have a defferent reason. I simply would like to upgrade for a better gaming experience. The video card I am looking at is the eVGA e-GeForce 7800 GT CO 256MB PCI-E w/ Dual DVI, VIVO. I have recently looked inside the z540 and it appears that this particular card will not fit, or will it? To me it doesnt look like it will fit inside the computer, but that is my question...will it fit? Also if the card does not fit are there compact versions of the card on the market and if not, would it be possible to purchase a regular pc case and transfer my HP z540's components to that one?

Thanks
Samuel
