Mother Board

HD

I need to be pointed in the direction of type of RAM.. I'm thinking 1gb.. 2 512mb sticks of something..

I need everything except a monitor keyboard, mouse and OS

Your missing two important things that are more important than a HD.

CPU, GPU, RAM, Mobo

Also the harddrive you have choosen is not good. You want SATA. So search for ATA150 or SATA 3.0Gb/s interface IDE is dead. Your RPM is good unless you want to pay alot for something that isn't standard yet.

You are getting the same Mobo I am so I'll say you've made a good choice.

As for your Processor I am a duel core man but I hear the AMD 64 FX is the uber game processor. Your processor choice though is also a good choice.

What is your video card?

I'd rather get 2GB of ram than 1GB

Despite what others say, the DFI lanparty isn't really a beginners board, I would recommend a MSI K8v NF4 motherboard instead.

It's a great board I say you don't really have to OC it and if you may choose to in the future a good choice why do you think it is not a beginer board?

Get an evga 7800gt. They are really cheap now and uber good cards. Mine and a 3700 sandy CPU can play battlefield 2 on highest settingsl. If only they would fix the account login thing then i could actually play.............
Get 2 gigs of some value RAM if you arent gonna overclock. Like OCZ value or something.

can u tell me exactly why Lanparty is not for beginners?
and pls explain to me as a noob can understand..
even though there r so many good resourses available for DFI board at DFI-street,
u still think its not for beginners. and i wanna know why..

thx

so i should get the cheapest ram i can find? and .. is there a cheaper vid. card i can get?

$300 for a 7800gt is a killer deal, but if you must go with something cheaper, get a 6800gs and overclock the hell out of it.
