LCD monitors

My mom wants a LCD monitor for xmas. I think 17" will do, but I would like the cheapest, yet reliable one. Best bang for the buck basically. I would like to avoid mail-in rebates if possible, thanks a bunch. Not really worried about response time, my mom won't worry about that.

I got my 19" LCD for less than $300 there. And if you end up with dead pixels or something, you just take it back and exchange it.
