risks of updating windows

ah but you said Volume key isn't that the trick? The average person will probably not have such a key and will have a Vender/OEM.

Volume licence (VLK) can be use on any computer because it doesn't require activation. you can install this on a million computers

you can go to MS to download updates, but if the think your computer is bootlegg, they won't let you update, but they won't mess with your computer. if you got your windows serial off of a keygen, you can still update as ms can't tell if it bootlegg or not. this is also true if you use a legit key and applied a crack, because you don't fill like calling ms for activation

however if you have a blacklist key (a keycode circulating around the net, and or the world), they will lock your computer up. don't even think about heading to windows update if you have this kind of windows

i think my school does have the corporate edition...but why are they afraid to update? costs too much for the tech to do it??

the computers wont update overnight because they are turned off, plus updates take HD space, and these computers have 15 gig drives, with 8 gigs used.

well heres the specs...

dell optiplex gx110
intel pentium 3 993 Mhz
15 GB HD
512 MB RAM
manufactured in 2001, according to the dell screen

these arent the newest generation optiplex's, the older gen.

yea, the OS is only 1 year newer than the computers right now, haha

the teacher's computers is the complete opposite, its a dimension 3000 with pentium 4 3.0 ghz, 512 RAM, and SP2

totally unfair :(
