new laptop

Hey a coworker of mine is looking for a good laptop for under $1000. It is for his church. The church has an account with Dell so they are kinda leaning toward them since they get a discount, even though i advised him that would not be the best of ideas. What do you guys think would be a good buy for about this amount.

Dell Laptops aren't horrible. Toshiba Acer and HP are good choices.
