AMD Athlon 64 price hop?

Did anyone else see that? I was helping a new guy build a PC and I recommended the Athlon 3000+ for his semi-budget build. I said that's 139 dollars on newegg... He said to me, "The only one I see on here is 157." I check it out. Turns out, he was right. The same processor hopped in price 18 dollars. What's up with this deal?

Ive seen NewEggs prices jump alot. Allthough its not usually much, just a couple bucks. I hate that they change it so much !

well, it doesn't make sense either. they must be trying to sell the 3200+ because w/ the free shipping deal, the 3000+ and the 3200+ are the SAME price... it's a really weird deal. I'm not sure what to think.

The day I bought my X-Fi, the price jumped up $3. The next day, they were sold out. Maybe it's the same thing with the 3000+.

Yup! They are phasing out the E3 CPU's and bringing in the E4 one's.
