is there a way i can use my command prompt to remotly shut down a computer using the same network as me?

someone told to enter this is:

shutdown /s /f (computer serial number)

but that dosent shut down that person, someone help please.

You have to be on a domain with the correct permissions to perform a remote shutdown. It just sounds like you are trying to screw with people. That ain't cool.

You would need permissions that im sure you don't have. Other than that you can install programs that will do this, however if you get caught using them you may be fired.
