PC shutting off

Lately, my desktop pc has been shutting off immediately after being turned on (within seconds), but then after about 4 or 5 attempts, it turns on and remains on until I turn it off a day later. Also, not every time I attempt to turn it on, it turns on. Sometimes when I try to turn it on, it doesn't do anything. Any ideas on this problem? Thanks.

I would definitely look into buying a new power supply. If you have access to another puter (a friends...whatever) ask if you can't do a PSU swap and see what happens.

But I havn't added any new hardware to bog the PSU down at all. Can PSU's wear out and evenutally die over time? Thanks.
