If the motherboard has nvidia chipsets do you have to stick with a nvida video card, or can you use a different brand such as ATI?

Yes you can, some Nvidia Chipsets support SLi, SLi only works with Nvidia cards, ATi supports Crossfire, only ATi can Crossfire.

Guys, SLI isnt the only option nowadays... not every one has parents spoinling them with every peice of hardware you can have.

Any graphic card will work on that chipset. You will only be able to SLI if you are going dual cards though, meaning NVidia cards only. But if you are single carding, then you can choose which ever card you want.

Dont turn this into a ati vs nvidia thread.
