cpu usage higher that old computers?

i just got a new computer with a 2.8ghz dual core proccessor and it idles at 28% wen im not doing anything where as my old comp with a 2.5ghz pentium 4 idles at 2%. any idea y.

You must have an amazing array of sofware running in the background!!!! Run>type in msconfig> startup up tab: How much stuff is in there? You only need your antivirus and systray running the background. post what you find in there!!!

thanx i did that it cut proccesses down to 31 from 41
