hi eric sounds like an annoying problem. two things did you add the graphics card yourself? and did the prob start when you installed the new ram, or when you installed the new modem and software?
what i would suggest before you get any form of software to try and diagnose the problem, would be to simply remove any and all hardware you've installed recently. including the memory, which could be faulty, or even in the wrong dimm slot. the largest, if they're not the same size, has to be in the primary slot on the motherboard. then go back into windows to see if the problem persists. if not add the new hardware one piece at a time, for instance, put the mem upgrade in then boot back up to windows and try things out. if all's well add the video card etc.
i've bought used sdram in the past and faulty ones aren't always easy to detect. some won't allow the pc to boot or even power up, but i had one recently that allowed everything to fuction normally until i tried to re install windows xp. thought it may be a prob with the software at first, then thought could be the drive not reading the disc. but it turned out to be the sdram stick, i simply put another in from another pc and all ran well. its always best to buy ram new! one lesson i've learnt.

it all depends when the prob started, and the thing to keep in mind is that if things were fine before you added something then the card, memory or whatever you added is causing the prob. try putting the hardware configuration back to how it was in that restore point that solved the prob before then add one thing at a time, and test it. should show which is causing the prob.
once you find out exactly whats causing the prob its easy to put right.good luck.
you also said you sent your pc back to have the burner sorted out, whats a burner???

I think i fixed the problem I looked at the highest procese and it was webroots spysweeper I unstalled that and my computer didnt lagg at all kinda ironic but hey lol what ever works I guess wish i didnt pay for the supsrition.... oh well

Good to know .. That u finally figured it out ... :)

I really like Process Exp for it's functionality

That's simple ... in Process Explorer .. Click on Options > Select Replace Task Manager.

Now it automatically loads up with windows .. n' it comes up every time u hit CTRL+ALT+DEL
