i have a problem with my dvd burner :(

ok last night i tried to burn a dvd well it didnt do it, so i felt it alone to do it today well i tried again today nothing. Well i need to burn a image off nero and it goes to he point of selectiong the speed in which one want to burn i went under the nero for dvd. But it only showed itself as a cd burner not a dvd burner so i can burn my file thats my problem. I know it works cuz i used it just a few minutes ago to back up some files on a dvd but for image burning it doesnt want to show up. so can someone give a little help here.

Did you select the DVD on the top of the selection box?
Recorder > burn image

If you need to open the files on the image, you can use winrar. (rarlabs.com)

yea thats what i did all the times i tried it didnt do it i want to fix this i dont want to have to return it, but also how can one write on a dvd using winrar?
