How to Convert DVD to DIVX Format

How do I do this? I have a DVD Decrypter that turns them into VSOs on your computer. But a lot of my buddys have DVD Movies, in a DIVX format. What do I need to convert DVDs to this format? They average around 1gb per movie. Very nice I think... There any free programs out there that can do this?

Just tried, ImToo, and the res. sux, and it like can't detect any of my settings and it freezes the shit out of my comp.... Gonna try some others.
